Palm Beach mayor: Town accomplished significant amount of work this summer
As we turn the page from summer into a new season, I want to take a moment to share how our town has been preparing for the months ahead and celebrate the incredible amount of work we accomplished together over the summer.
While many think of summer as a quiet period in Palm Beach, it is, in fact, one of the busiest times. Our teams use this season to strengthen infrastructure, complete projects and make improvements that ensure we are ready to welcome residents, visitors and businesses back at full capacity.
This summer, we:
● invested in infrastructure: From road resurfacing and water-system upgrades to stormwater improvements and overhead utility pole removal, our crews worked tirelessly to strengthen our town's foundation. Public Works is working to complete several capital projects ahead of season, including the Royal Poinciana Way west median beautification and the annual maintenance of the wastewater pump stations in preparation for higher flows with the return of many residents to town;
● prepared for hurricane season: Town staff coordinated with regional and state partners to refine emergency response protocols, reinforce critical facilities and ensure equipment and supplies are ready should we need them. Safety always remains our highest priority;
● advanced public spaces: Parks and recreation facilities received needed maintenance and enhancements, so they remain places of pride and enjoyment for residents of all ages;
● modernized operations: Behind the scenes, staff advanced technology upgrades that will improve transparency, communication and service delivery to our community; and
● stayed abreast of legislative issues and code review: In addition to preparing for the next legislative session, staff is implementing projects that are now permitted via the passed 2025 legislation. Zoning code review is ongoing and will be a focal point for the upcoming season.
These efforts reflect a larger truth: The work of running a world-class town can never take a vacation. It is consistent, deliberate, and always focused on meeting the highest standards our residents expect and deserve.
As we enter the new season, you will notice the results of this work — whether in smoother streets, more reliable services or the peace of mind that comes with knowing your town is always well prepared.
I extend my deepest gratitude to our staff, contractors and community partners whose hard work and dedication made this progress possible. Their efforts during the summer months often go unseen, but their impact will be felt throughout the year.
Palm Beach has a tradition of excellence, and together, we are carrying that tradition forward. Thank you for your trust, engagement and shared commitment to making our town the best it can be.
With appreciation and warm regards,
Danielle H. Moore
